Solomon Kings FC kicked off their Challengers Group campaign with a crucial victory over Tahiti United, surviving a tense finish to secure three crucial points. After a scoreless first half marked by Tahiti United's early pressure and a yellow card for simulation against Mauri Heitaa, Solomon Kings took control early in the second half when Rafa Le'ai tapped home a cross from Jez Lofthouse. Tahiti United appeared to have equalized through Joseph Athale but the goal was overturned by VAR for offside, allowing Solomon Kings to eventually double their lead via a clinical Lofthouse counter-attack in the 83rd minute. Although Bradley Ruiz immediately responded for Tahiti United to set up a nervous finale, the Solomon Kings held firm to overcome their rivals and keep their semi-final playoff ambitions firmly on track.
