Description
New Caledonia kept their FIFA Women’s World Cup 2027™ qualification hopes alive with a crucial victory over Vanuatu in wet conditions, marking their first qualifying win since 2018. Both teams entered the match desperately needing a result after heavy opening-round defeats but New Caledonia took control in the first half through a spectacular solo goal from Kané Dralu and a header from Leana Hmae. Vanuatu pushed hard to find their way back into the game with Nettie Kalsau having a goal ruled out for offside and hitting the crossbar but could only manage a late consolation goal from Leimata Simon. New Caledonia ultimately held firm to secure the vital three points and keep their campaign moving forward.
