Papua New Guinea secured the top spot in Group B of the FIFA Women’s World Cup 2027™ Oceania Qualifiers with a late victory over previously undefeated Fiji. After weather delays postponed the matchup between the two unbeaten sides, Papua New Guinea largely controlled the game though Fiji managed to force a close-range save early in the second half. Ultimately, the Papua New Guinea clinched the win in the 86th minute when Meagen Gunemba netted the deciding goal off an assist from Mavis Singara.
