Fiji stormed into the semi-finals with a dominant win over the Cook Islands and becoming the first team to secure a last-four spot. Fiji’s Saula Muatini struck early and added a second just before halftime while captain Maikah Dau converted a penalty and Ryan Achari netted twice to seal the rout. Fiji’s relentless attack and solid defence left the Cook Islands with little chance though skipper Kima Webb came close with a long-range effort. The victory keeps Fiji top of Group A ahead of their final clash with Papua New Guinea while the Cook Islands must beat Tahiti heavily and hope other results go their way to keep faint qualification hopes alive.
