Tahiti United secured an important victory over PNG Hekari FC in their rescheduled Round 1 fixture, keeping their top-four aspirations alive. Matéo Degrumelle opened the scoring for Tahiti early in the first half following a smart exchange with Terai Bremond. After a strong finish to the half by PNG Hekari, Tahiti doubled their lead immediately after the break when substitute Manuarii Shan headed in his very first touch of the match. PNG Hekari quickly responded with a superb strike from Joseph Joe to halve the deficit but Tahiti ultimately held on through a tense second half, securing a vital win that moves them level on points with fourth-placed Vanuatu United.
