Description
Vanuatu United FC moved to the brink of Challengers Group with a hard-fought victory over Solomon Kings FC in a dramatic five-goal thriller. Otto Ingham's header gave Vanuatu United the lead before half-time but Solomon Kings levelled through a Sota Higashide penalty in the 62nd minute before Alex Saniel, the league's leading scorer quickly restored Vanuatu United's advantage by reacting fastest to tap home after a goalkeeping error. A second costly mistake from Solomon Kings’ keeper Phillip Mango then gifted Vanuatu a third goal when Javin Wae inadvertently headed into his own net and though Javin Wae made amends with a goal at the other end minutes later, it was too late to affect the outcome.
