Competing in Round 2 for the first time, American Samoa outplayed their heavily favoured opponents throughout the match, overcoming missed first-half opportunities when Alayna Fuamatu-Ma’afala fired home the decisive goal in the 56th minute off a cutback from Mia Toeina.
