The competition favourites established immediate dominance with Kelli Brown opening the scoring just 35 seconds into the match and securing her hat-trick before the break. Despite a resilient and well-organized defensive effort from Samoa that briefly stifled the Kiwis early in the second half, New Zealand eventually broke through the lines. Captain Katie Kitching’s 65th-minute goal triggered a late scoring surge, which was followed by a Samoan own goal, a brace from Mania Elliot, and a final stoppage-time strike from Deven Jackson to seal the emphatic win.
