The hosts under the spotlight

Both Korea Republic and Japan had incredible campaigns at the 2002 FIFA World Cup™. Both sides finished top of their respective groups, with Japan advancing to the knock-outs for the first time. While the journey ended there for them, Korea Republic was able to advance all the way to the play-off for third place before ultimately losing to Turkey.
