Despite Vanuatu's aggressive play, two crucial defensive errors forced by Madeline Arukau allowed the Solomon Islands to score. Captain Ileen Pegi opened the scoring with an 18th-minute penalty, followed by Madeline Arukau's goal in the 57th minute.
