New Caledonia sealed the final semi-final place with a composed draw against hosts Tahiti. Needing only a point to progress, New Caledonia asserted control after the break and broke the deadlock with a stunning long-range strike that underlined their dominance. Tahiti, who required a win to advance, fought desperately and grabbed a late equaliser from the penalty spot but it was not enough to overturn their fate.
