Description
South Melbourne FC strengthened their grip on second place and all but confirmed a top-four finish after victory over Bula FC. Benefiting from the return of key players like Marco Jankovic and Yuki Uchida, South Melbourne took control early when Yuki Uchida expertly lifted the ball over Didier Desprez following a Max Mikkola through ball. Max Mikkola quickly turned from provider to scorer, doubling the lead with a stunning 25-yard left-footed strike that left the goalkeeper rooted to the spot. Despite second-half efforts from Bula FC's Nabil Begg and Adam Supyk in heavy rain, South Melbourne remained composed defensively to secure the win and move further clear of their opponents in the standings.
