Papua New Guinea secured their progression to Round 3 of the FIFA Women’s World Cup 2027 Oceania Qualifiers from Group B with a decisive victory over New Caledonia. Despite dominating the chances, the Papua New Guinea were frustrated by a resilient New Caledonian defence and goalkeeper Elizabeth Aben during a goalless first half. The deadlock was finally broken in the 71st minute by Anashtasia Gunemba which opened the floodgates for three additional late goals from Keren Kalapai, Meagen Gunemba and Calista Maneo, comfortably booking Papua New Guinea's ticket to the next phase with a game to spare.
