New Caledonia mounted a stunning second-half comeback to defeat the Solomon Islands in a dramatic Group B match. New Caledonia initially took the lead through Hnoka Wetewea but the Solomon Islands responded with goals from Junior Sam and Junior Ben to lead at halftime. After the break, New Caledonia took control with Andre Menango and Lenddy Wede scoring headers to regain the lead. Lenddy Wede then added another goal and Andre Menango completed the scoring in extra time to seal the victory and silence the home crowd.
