New Caledonia secured the last Oceania spot in the FIFA U-17 Men's World Cup by defeating hosts Tahiti 5-4 in a penalty shootout after a 1-1 draw. Fabrice Iopue put New Caledonia ahead in the 25th minute, but Rohan Tereroa levelled for Tahiti in the 64th minute. Nicolas Kutran's penalty save and Malik Padome's winning spot-kick sealed the victory for New Caledonia.
