Tonga secured their place in the final match of Round One of the FIFA World Cup 26™ Oceania Qualifiers by defeating Cook Islands 3-1. Tonga’s captain Hemaloto Polovili played a key role, assisting the first goal and scoring the second from the penalty spot. Cook Islands fought back in the second half, halving the deficit, but Tonga sealed the victory with a late goal from substitute Christopher Kefu.
