Description
Vanuatu United FC secured their first victory of the season with a crucial win over Bula FC. Bula FC controlled the early stages in rainy conditions but Vanuatu United found their rhythm and took the lead when Alex Saniel swept home his fifth goal of the campaign following excellent buildup play by Bill Kaltack. Bula FC pushed hard for a second-half equalizer with veteran Roy Krishna agonizingly hitting the post but they were immediately punished when Kathy Iamak doubled Vanuatu's advantage, a strike confirmed by VAR after a cross from Owen Smith. Bolstered by a resolute defensive effort, Vanuatu United held firm to claim the clean sheet and keep their top-four aspirations alive.
