Auckland FC kept their semi-finals hopes alive with a crucial victory over Bula FC, bouncing back from an opening-day defeat to secure their first points of the Leaders Group. The home side dominated the first half by exploiting Bula FC's defensive errors with Jonty Bidois netting his first Pro League goal in the seventh minute after an Everton O’Leary cross before O’Leary himself doubled the lead in the 36th minute with a powerful strike into the roof of the net for Auckland FC. Despite Bula FC creating occasional threats through Thomas Dunn and Nabil Begg, Auckland FC’s goalkeeper Oscar Mason remained resolute and a disjointed second half saw them successfully navigate a flurry of tactical changes to claim the win.
