American Samoa practically secured their place in the semi-finals of the FIFA Women’s World Cup 2027™ Oceania Qualifiers with a narrow victory over Samoa, marking their second consecutive. After threatening early on with close attempts from Mia Toeaina and Alayna Fuamatu-Maafala, American Samoa finally broke the deadlock when Toeaina rounded the goalkeeper and set up Morgan Patea for a close-range finish. Despite a much-improved second-half performance from Samoa that saw them control territory, they were unable to find an equalizer, leaving their own qualification hopes hanging by a thread.
